Brewery Operative Duties


Brewing Support – Assist in the brewing process, including the preparation, mixing, and fermentation of ingredients to produce beer according to recipe specifications.

Monitoring & Quality Control – Ensure the quality of the beer by monitoring fermentation, carbonation, and packaging processes, conducting regular tastings and adjustments as needed.

Equipment Maintenance – Operate and maintain brewing equipment, ensuring all machinery is in good working condition and performing regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Inventory & Stock Management – Manage stock levels of ingredients (e.g., malt, hops, yeast), monitor usage, and assist with ordering supplies to ensure continuous production.

Health & Safety Compliance – Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols in the brewing process, ensuring a safe working environment and the proper handling of equipment and chemicals.


Required Skills


Brewing Knowledge – Basic understanding of brewing processes, ingredients, and equipment, with the ability to follow recipes and contribute to the production process.

Attention to Detail – Strong ability to monitor processes and ensure consistency in product quality, from fermentation to packaging.

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting – Ability to identify and resolve issues with equipment or brewing processes, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent production.

Teamwork & Communication – Ability to work well within a team, communicate effectively with other operatives and management, and ensure smooth collaboration in a busy environment.

Physical Stamina & Dexterity – The role requires physical strength to lift heavy ingredients, manage brewing equipment, and stand for long periods, with good manual dexterity for tasks such as handling valves, taps, and equipment.
