Badger & Co is a character-filled restaurant and bar in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. We're known for warm
hospitality, creative cocktails and a Scottish food and drinks offering that has had a lot of thought put into it.
At Badger, we're big believers in the people behind the bar. We're looking for bartenders to join our established team,
people who love a busy service, care about the quality of what they're serving and enjoy that lovely balance between
having a laugh with your team and doing the job properly.

A LITTLE ABOUT BADGER
Our home on Castle Street was once the home of Kenneth Grahame, who wrote The Wind in the Willows. You'll spot a
little of that character throughout Badger, but the real story is what we put into the glass and onto the plate.
We're a Scottish restaurant first and foremost, built around regional produce, seasonality and a genuine love of food and
drink. At Badger, we're big believers in letting the product do the talking. That same care runs through our bar: drinks
with personality, quality and a little imagination, never complicated just for the sake of it.
Our drinks offering includes:
• Creative house cocktails, with a little nod to The Wind in the Willows and plenty of personality.
• Classic cocktails made properly, with consistency and real attention to detail.
• A thoughtful wine offering, including bottles worth getting excited about and a chance to build genuine wine
knowledge.
• Scottish whisky, carefully chosen spirits and opportunities to recommend something new.
• Local and craft beers, beautifully kept pints and quality low and no-alcohol options.
We look after everyone from guests popping in for a drink to people settling down for a special dinner, Sunday lunch or
a private celebration. We want the bar to feel like a natural part of the whole restaurant experience.
The best drinks are made with care, but served without a fuss.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll be part of a bar team that cares just as much about what's happening behind the scenes as what the guest sees.
• Making and serving brilliant drinks, from our house cocktails to classics, wine, beer and spirits.
• Getting to know our products and confidently making thoughtful recommendations.
• Delivering friendly, relaxed service to guests at the bar and supporting the restaurant floor.
• Taking real pride in preparation: batching and ingredients where required, garnishes, clean glassware, stock and
organised stations.
• Keeping standards high throughout service, even when the tickets start coming thick and fast.
• Working closely with the floor and kitchen teams so that drinks and food service feel seamless.
• Looking after stock, cleanliness, licensing and responsible alcohol service.
• Handling payments and bar systems accurately and confidently.

At Badger, we're big believers in the art of setting up for success. Great bartending isn't about looking busy or putting on
a show. It's about doing the preparation properly so that, when the room fills up, we can deliver consistently brilliant
drinks without the chaos.
That means a well-stocked station, prepared ingredients, clean glassware, a team that knows the plan and the confidence
to enjoy the rush. We want bartenders who value that work and understand that the best shifts are usually won before
service even begins.

• You work well with others, share your knowledge and are happy to get stuck in.
You don't need to know every cocktail or every bottle on the list from day one. We can teach you that. What matters is
being keen to learn and caring enough to do things well.
