Four mates. One back-garden barbecue that got out of hand. A burger that came second in the world.
That was 2011. Now there are eight Beefy Boys restaurants and over 400 of us. Our bar in Exeter pours cocktails, cold beers and hard shakes to a room that's always buzzing, and we need you behind it.
Here's the job.
You'll make drinks people take photos of, and make them fast. Cocktails, boozy milkshakes, pints, the lot, and we'll teach you everyone. When the bar's under control and the floor's flat out, you'll be out there helping. Nobody here works in a bubble.
You'll fit right in if...
you're quick, friendly and can keep smiling with six drinks on the go. Bar experience is great, but it's not a deal breaker.
The honest bit.
When it kicks off, it really kicks off. Tickets stacking up, a full bar and a table of twelve all ordering shakes. If that sounds stressful, this isn't for you. If it sounds like fun, it's exactly for you.
So, what's the pay?
Let's talk money. You'll get up to £13.00 an hour. On top of that you get tronc. If you've not heard the word before, it's our tips, pooled and split fairly across the whole team, and paid through your wages. We don't keep a penny of it. It goes up and down with how busy we are, but last year it added an average of £[X] an hour, depending on the site.
We open 12 till 9.30, so no 6am starts and no 2am finishes.
What else you get.
All the stuff you'd expect is here: holiday, a pension, free food every shift and money off when you bring your mates in. Plus wellbeing support, including a GP and mental health support, and we close on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. But ask anyone who's been here a while and they'll tell you it's the people. A team that has your back on a mad Saturday, managers who'll jump behind the bar with you, and two staff parties a year, including our summer festival.
