Social Media Platform TikTok Is Creating 500 New Jobs In The UK

If you’re looking for a career in the tech or creative industries, one of the world’s biggest social media platforms is about to bring hundreds of new opportunities to the UK.

TikTok has announced plans to create over 500 new jobs in Britain this year as it expands its UK workforce to around 3,000 employees.

The move also includes the opening of a brand new 135,000 square foot office in London’s Barbican district, its second major UK base.

The company’s growing London presence is expected to bring a wide variety of new roles, ranging from content moderation, marketing and design, to software engineering, data science, partnerships and corporate support.

Whether you’re a graduate looking for your first job in tech, an experienced digital marketer or a creative professional wanting to work with one of the world’s most dynamic platforms, this expansion offers an opportunity to get a foot in the door with a leading name in the industry.

TikTok’s current UK HQ opened in London’s Farringdon area three years ago and the company has been steadily growing its British team since launching UK operations back in 2018.

Announcing the expansion plans for the capital, TikTok UK’s director of and global head of operations and trust and safety, Adam Presser, said: “Whether through direct investment in jobs and innovation or the wider economic contribution from millions of British businesses on TikTok, we’re pleased to be increasing our investment and presence here in the UK, an important hub for TikTok.”

“What underpins our continued growth is our deep commitment to safety and to creating an enjoyable and secure digital space to sustainably support creators, entrepreneurs and the wider economy, which is why we also invest significantly in safety,” added Mr Presser.

Crucially for UK jobseekers, TikTok’s latest announcement comes amid a wider boom in digital and creative sector hiring in London and across the UK, with the tech industry offering some of the most in-demand and well-paid roles on the market.

If you're interested in applying for any of the roles, keep an eye on TikTok's careers site for the latest vacancies.
