National Grid To Create 200 Full & Part Time Jobs In Warwick & Wokingham

The National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) has announced plans to create 200 full or part time jobs in Warwick and Wokingham.

The recruitment drive for the new jobs at ESO will be staggered throughout the rest of this year, with 130 vacancies up for grabs in Warwick and a further 70 positions on offer in Wokingham.

National Grid ESO has its head offices in Warwick, whilst it also has control centre operations in Berkshire’s Wokingham.

The 200 roles on offer at ESO in Warwick and Wokingham include a wide range of vacancies including account managers, communications roles, contracts managers, data analysts, data modellers, data management specialists, industry codes specialists, market development officers, power systems engineers, product managers and regulation staff.

The 200 new recruits will be tasked with improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall ESO network, as well as helping to even out the supply and demand of electricity across the system.

Announcing the new positions within his company, National Grid Electricity System Operator’s director, Fintan Slye, said: “The time is now to start tackling climate change and we’re excited to be recruiting these roles to help Great Britain transition to a greener grid. I’m proud of all the work ESO colleagues are doing to deliver cleaner electricity, but there’s still a long way to go and these roles will help us move faster on the journey to net zero.”

"Transforming our electricity system to operate with 100 per cent clean energy takes time and the clock is ticking. We need people who are brimming with enthusiasm and bursting with ideas to help us. If you are passionate about climate change and want to make a real and immediate impact, then please do apply,” urged Mr Slye.
