Around Noon Creates 200 Berkshire Jobs With New Food Factory in Slough

Around Noon, the Northern Ireland-based food manufacturer, has launched a brand new factory in Slough, creating up to 200 new full or part time jobs in Berkshire.

The multi-million-pound investment marks the company’s fifth production site across the UK and Ireland and its second in the South East of England.

Located just a stone’s throw from Heathrow Airport, the 30,000 square foot facility will significantly boost Around Noon’s production capacity, by as much as £50 million.

The expansion comes on the back of a strong 2024 for the company, which has seen its net sales rise by 21 per cent to more than £80 million.

Around Noon, which now employs over 300 people, is continuing to grow rapidly and was recently named one of the UK’s 100 fastest-growing companies in both the Sunday Times 100 and FEBE Growth 100.

The firm specialises in high-quality food-to-go, producing a wide range of chilled, hot and frozen items - including sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast pots, deli snacks, baked goods and fruit juices.

Every month, Around Noon supplies more than 4.4 million products to customers in travel, convenience retail, supermarkets, coffee shops, contract catering, healthcare, education and other sectors.

The latest move follows the company’s 2023 acquisition of The Soho Sandwich Company, including its modern manufacturing site in North London – a major step in strengthening Around Noon’s presence in the capital.

Announcing the plans, Gareth Chambers, the Chief Executive Officer at Around Noon, said: “This is a significant moment for our business. We are on track to achieve £100 million turnover and this new facility will play a key role in accelerating growth towards that target and beyond as we continue to expand our presence and market share.”

“The opening of our new Slough facility is the culmination of years of work and a huge team effort. It’s a site we’re incredibly proud to showcase and one that reflects our scaling ambitions,” added the CEO.

With plenty of new roles on offer in Slough, this expansion is great news for local job seekers – including students looking for part-time or entry-level positions in food production.
