Amazon Creating 1,000 New UK Apprenticeships In 2025

Amazon is significantly expanding its UK apprenticeship program by announcing over 1,000 new vacancies for 2025.

This expansion, announced during National Apprenticeship Week 2025, encompasses a diverse range of over 40 programs, spanning fields like data science, cybersecurity, marketing, engineering, human resources, health & safety and warehouse positions.

A key feature of Amazon apprenticeships programs is their focus on future-ready skills, with most courses now incorporating training in generative AI.

In addition, Amazon is also introducing new programs this year in areas such as creative industries production, data center operations and facilities operations.

These opportunities are available across a variety of Amazon’s operations, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Prime Video and Amazon Devices & Services.

The Amazon Apprenticeship program is recognised by the Labour Government's Department for Education as a leading UK scheme. It currently supports approximately 2,000 apprentices, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in the country.

Amazon's commitment to its employees has been recognized by the Top Employers Institute, which has named the company a top UK employer for the second year running.

This accolade also marks the third consecutive year Amazon has been named as a Top Employer in Europe, highlighting its dedication to employee development and well-being.

Highlighting some of the benefits of signing up as an apprentice, Amazon UK’s Country Manager, John Boumphrey, said: “The Amazon Apprenticeship programme is perfect for people of all ages who are either taking their first step on the career ladder or for those who want to pursue a new path. This is one of the many ways we continue to create opportunities for people inside and outside Amazon to learn new skills and gain new qualifications.”

A press release from Amazon about the new opportunities also quoted Chris Edwards, a former Electrical Apprentice who joined the online retailer in 2021, as saying: “There are so many opportunities here. If you're willing to put in the effort, Amazon has tons of different paths you can take.”
