Job Description

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a forward thinking team of HR and Payroll professionals where you will learn and develop in areas of recruitment, HR, OD and Payroll administration to ensure our employees and managers have accurate and timely information to support the business.



Using your experience of customer service, you will be expected to provide accurate administration support to the team which will include data input, letter writing, filing and liaising by phone and email with a wide range of internal and external contacts.



This is a fast paced, changing environment so the ability to organise and prioritise tasks is essential, as is a high level of awareness of working in a confidential environment.



This is an Apprenticeship role and the successful candidate will be required to study for a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration one day per week at York College.

The post holder will:




  • Deliver an excellent customer experience by effectively and accurately providing administration

  • Support including scanning, filing, collect post, sending letters and emails

  • Input personal data into HR database (Access), where accuracy is paramount

  • Comply with the Society’s policies, procedures and practices in all day to day activities

  • Be open to business change and respond flexibly to the changing needs of the business

  • Ensure all vacancies are advertised internally via the Intranet and on the Benenden Health website

  • Ensure selected roles are advertised with recruitment agencies and on-line job boards are within budget

  • Record, collate and forward CVs for advertised roles to the relevant line manager

  • Ensure all applications received are responded to in writing, liaising with recruitment agencies as appropriate

  • Collate, process and file sickness absence paperwork

  • Ensuring documents are filed accurately in employee personal files, archiving these as appropriate

  • Set up all new employee personal files ensuring key documents are completed fully and stored accurately

  • Book new starters on day one inductions and core inductions, preparing induction packs as necessary

  • Identify training and coaching needs to enhance personal performance and provide support and coaching to others

  • Promote The Benenden Healthcare Society Ltd at all appropriate opportunities

Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to join the organisation on a permanent basis.
