Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice within a busy and fast paced Corporate Business Support Team. The successful candidates will work within the Business Support area for Children’s Services. You will learn and develop skills in a variety of administration functions, providing administrative support across a wide range of teams.
You need to have good oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have an ability to learn new skills.
Some of the things you can expect to be involved with are:
- Maintaining computerised records, data inputting and producing associated management information
- Ensuring all correspondence relating to customer enquiries are recorded and dealt with
- Generating standard letters and documents
- Maintaining filing systems
- Answering and responding to telephone calls
- Undertaking photocopying and scanning
- Processing purchase orders and invoices
- Providing a diary service for other members of staff, arranging appointments and meetings, as necessary

Future Prospects :
Intermediate level apprenticeships will last for 15 months, and as well as providing an NVQ at level 3 and functional skills qualifications (if needed) during this period it will also give experience of working in a varied role in a diverse organisation. There may be the opportunity to progress to an advanced level apprenticeship but this is not guaranteed.
