Job Description

In the first six months apprentices will undertake Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualifications in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook in order to develop high-end IT user skills as a strong foundation for their future role. Thereafter apprentices will undertake various units working towards achievement of the Level 3 Infrastructure Technician including industry recognised qualifications such as CompTIA or MTA, so that they can develop technical knowledge and skills for a specific role.



Apprentices will be employed on a full-time, fixed term contract attending block release training in Liverpool or Manchester. 



This duties and responsibilities of the role consist of the following:




  • Installation, configuration and deployment of PCs and Apple Macs

  • Updating internal IT systems including the helpdesk tickets, asset records and technical documentation

  • Resolve first line IT Support requests

  • IT operations activities including proactive checking and monitoring of internal IT systems

Future Prospects :

This opportunity is advertised on a fixed term contract basis due to this being an apprenticeship, the objective of which is to gain a recognised qualification and experience in the workplace. This does not include a guaranteed permanent post with an NHS organisation, however, throughout the apprenticeship individuals will be eligible to apply for vacancies within their workplace organisation, subject to the usual recruitment processes, with support being provided to ideally secure a position by completion. The apprenticeship will provide valuable work experience and a qualification that is recognised by employers.
