Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team of digital engagement professionals. As a Digital Marketing Apprentice, you will be provided with the necessary guidance and exposed to the relevant skills to unlock your potential as a digital marketer. If you have a keen interest in digital marketing and an eagerness to learn, we want to hear from you!



This apprenticeship is supported by Cultivator, a project funded by the European Social Fund, Arts Council England and Cornwall Council. The Telegraph Museum Porthcurno is developing its digital marketing, engaging audiences across various platforms and creating engaging brand content spanning graphic, video and virtual reality to meet different audience’s needs. All of your duties will be towards delivering the museum’s Digital Engagement Programme. You will receive day-to-day support from two Digital Engagement Officers, report to the Engagement Manager and receive guidance from our Freelance Marketeer who works across Cornwall’s cultural sector. You will also be part of the Cornwall-wide Digital Engagement for museums professional network.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Creation and management of online advertising campaigns, mainly using Google pay-per-click advertising.

  • Undertaking keyword research for the museum and making recommendations on this for use across digital platforms, especially the website and PPC campaigns.

  • Day to day running of the museum’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, ensuring all content is on brand and reiterates the museum’s key messages in appropriate tone of voice.

  • Implementing paid-for social media campaigns across several platforms, with appropriate target audience and brand messaging, mainly to promote Museum events and to raise awareness of the Museum as a visitor attraction.

  • Creating statistics reports and analysing data through Google Analytics and social media platforms.

  • Creating content for digital platforms, including infographics, short form videos and photography.

  • Creation of branded emails through Mailchimp.

  • Providing support to the museum’s customers by responding to enquiries via social media platforms.

  • Input and suggestions on how the museum can enhance customer experience and improve our relationship with them through the use of digital tools.

  • Working to clear project briefs set by the Engagement Manager and freelance marketing consultant.

  • Relevant experience managing social channels for a 3rd party.

  • Photoshop and basic video editing skills

  • Methodical with a keen eye for detail.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to find and create content.

  • Commitment to customer service.

  • Effective communicator and team player.

  • A good sense of humour.



Future Prospects :

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility of a job role.
