Language Empire are a fast growing company, who specialise in providing professional interpreting and translation services across the UK, covering both public and private sectors including NHS, Police and Local Councils. We recruit English speaking interpreters/translators who can speak a foreign language and are based nationwide in all areas of the UK.

As a Business Administration Apprentice what will I be doing?



The first 12 months of this exciting apprenticeship involves spending time in three departments of the business in order to gain a full understanding of how the company operates and the career opportunities available.



The successful apprentice will develop knowledge and skills on this fast paced fast track programme which will lead to a variety of career opportunities.



A snap shot of the first 12 months is detailed below;



In your role as a Business Admin Apprentice, you will learn how to provide administrative support in the Recruitment / Operational Departments. You will conduct your duties in line with this job description and any other policies and procedures set out by the company, in order to effectively and efficiently manage customer accounts to a high standard. During the course of your work, you will deliver and maintain an excellent customer service with freelancers and customers.



Recruitment department:




  • Update candidate essentials received by fax, email and post

  • File electronic and paper candidate documents in the archive unit

  • Manage and maintain an organised filing structure

  • Make ID Cards for candidates

  • Download candidate CVs from CV portals

  • Be responsible for CVs received by email - to download, save and add onto the temporary candidate section

  • Assist with various other business development tasks as directed by management

  • Assist with various other recruitment tasks



Account Executive department:




  • Enter Bookings received by Fax and Email

  • Manage the Booking Email Account and communication with clients

  • Answer inbound calls and deal with queries

  • Assist Account Managers

  • Register Interpreters over the phone

  • Provide over the phone online booking support to customers

  • Assist with the Interpreter research and building of resources

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by Management.



Sales department:




  • Maintain existing accounts and build on customer relationships

  • Research prospective new accounts/companies

  • Perform cold calling activity to identify new customers and opportunities

  • Provide support for sales systems

  • Call old prospects and update information details

  • Proactively cold calling potential customers for leads

  • Grow and maintain prospect data on our internal system to drive sales & marketing activities

  • Support the sales team

  • Provide support to Sales on Major accounts e.g. order processing, obtaining supplier pricing on ad-hoc quotes

  • Contact customers following sales, to ensure on-going customer satisfaction

  • Update and maintain data

Skills Required :

  • IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office and Outlook

Future Prospects :

Full training will be given in this challenging and varied role to ensure that the apprentice has the skills and expertise to become a permanent member of staff upon completion of the apprenticeship programme.
