Our Amey apprenticeship programme provides all of the skills, experience and support required to kick start your career, or to branch out in a new direction. From the beginning of your programme you’ll have full exposure to all elements of your chosen role, giving you the best opportunity to learn from experience. Whilst working, you’ll undertake a nationally recognised qualification; providing the theoretical background to your work. Account overview:
The One Trafford partnership between Amey and Trafford Council works to deliver Environmental and Highways Infrastructure services for Trafford. As an Apprentice you will work with our highways team maintaining and improving approximately 800km of roads, 17,000km of footways alongside 30,000 columns, illuminated signs and 37 parks
What will this role involve:
You will be given a variety of opportunities working on our key Highways contracts with Trafford County Council from meeting with the client and understanding expectations to being onsite and operational with a team of qualified professionals. Alongside this we will support you in your career development with us by providing you with a dedicated mentor
Specific duties may include:
- Breaking out and replacement of carriageway and footway surfacing
- Laying kerbs
- Undertaking minor drainage works
- Minor fencing
- Ironwork and street furniture replacement
- Traffic management
- Sign replacement
- Driving vehicles and plant
- Attending emergency incidents
