Job Description

English and Drama teachers
ELACP are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and creative English language teachers for our English summer camps.

There are places available both in our Bulgarian and Turkish camps. The Bulgaria camp is in Kranevo, Varna, just a few minutes’ walk from a sandy beach. The Turkey camp is located in the Beykoz forest on the outskirts of Istanbul, not too far from the coast.

This assignment is ideal as a working holiday for experienced teachers. It is a great opportunity for people who are interested in working with children for a future career. It might also be perfect for newly qualified language teachers for gap experience. All teaching materials are provided and induction is given at the Centre. Your task will be to teach English to international students, to develop their reading, writing, understanding and speaking skills. The students are aged between 7 and 17, from beginner to advanced level. There is also a small adult class for group leaders and parents.

A big part of the programme is the drama workshop where the students learn and practise an English classic and put on a performance at the end of each session. That includes costumes, singing and dancing. This is really great fun, and both children and parents look forward to the final performance.

A typical day consists of English lessons and drama workshop in the morning and early afternoon, then fun activities and excursions in the afternoon, and evening entertainment.

Accommodation and meals are provided free of charge for staff. All staff will stay in comfortable hotel accommodation, in a single, twin room or shared apartment. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snacks are provided at the hotel, or packed lunch on days out. Some excursions are also free of charge.

Internships
We welcome applications for volunteer activities leaders and camp counsellors. The posts are unpaid. Accommodation and full board, excursions and activities are provided free of charge. This would suit someone who wants to have fun during the holidays and help children to learn English at the same time. It could be useful experience for future employment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. No experience necessary, but applicants must be fluent in English. Must also be friendly, helpful and co-operative and should be willing to interact with students of all ages.

For teachers, applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English. Teaching experience and/or an EFL qualification will be a distinct advantage. He/she should have good general knowledge about life in an English speaking country and be familiar with most aspects of modern English culture and current affairs. The person should appreciate being around students of various ages. He/she should be tolerant, approachable and sociable and flexible. He/she should also be eligible to work in the EU.

Interviews will be conducted by Skype.
