Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in the catering industry within a busy professional kitchen as an Apprentice Kitchen Team Member at House of Koko at Hepworth Gallery Café.



Your duties will include but will not be restricted to ;




  • To ensure that the kitchen and back of house areas are clean, tidy and well maintained to the required standard in accordance with Company procedures and Food Safety and H&S legislation.

  • Responsible for collecting and checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas. Ensuring kitchen area meets requirements in respect of COSHH, Food Safety, H&S ,legal regulations, environmental policies.

  • Fridge and freezer temperature monitoring

  • Responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness in all areas in the kitchen and associated equipment and completion of cleansing record sheets

  • Preparation of vegetables, salads, soups, sauces, starters, main courses

  • You will be responsible for assisting in basic food preparation as required in compliance with UK food safety guidelines. 



As an Apprentice you will be included on a Apprenticeship Hospitality Team Member Level 2. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.


Personal Qualities :

Being a small, close knit team, where the owner play a prominent role, the ideal candidate should show the commitment and enthusiasm, shown by the other team members. Willingness to be flexible, and learning from all other team members is important.



Skills Required :

  • Enthusiasm for cooking

  • Good time-keeping

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to learning

  • Some cooking ability

  • Good personal hygiene



Future Prospects :

Once the successful candidate completes the apprenticeship, if both parties are in agreement, this could lead to a permanent full time chef position, with an increased salary.
