Job Description

Who are EY?

EY is one of the biggest and most exciting professional services firms in the world. But what does “professional services” actually mean, and what do we really do?

Our people use their business skills to advise our clients on how they can make better decisions on how their businesses are run. We work with small business owners, huge multinational organisations, exciting start-ups – even governments.

Apprenticeship Details:

Tax people enjoy learning all the time, and explaining complicated things in quick, straightforward ways. Sound like you?

EY people working in Tax help make sure that our clients are paying the right tax, in the right way. If one of our clients starts doing business in another country, how much tax should they pay there? Tax laws change all the time, so keeping up with regulations is a bigpart of working in Tax.

Our new training programme lets you join EY straight after school or college – just as some of our directors and partners did. You’ll go straight into a full-time job with a starting salary of up to £21,500, giving you independence and responsibility – without going to university first. When you qualify, you’ll have the same professional qualification you’d normally study for after university, and you’ll earn this sooner than a graduate, with the same career options to look forward to.

You’ll be given challenging work on a diverse range of projects and clients, developing a host of transferable skills, and receive on-the job coaching to support you and ensure that you reach your potential. And with opportunities across the UK you’ll receive the same world-class training and experience no matter which UK office you join.

Along with other tax-related work our Tax teams:

  • Calculate and legally minimise tax liabilities
  • Advise on tax implications of who our clients employ, and how
  • Help our clients understand the tax impact of buying or selling a business

Qualification Gained:

ICAEW Certificate in Finance and Business followed by the ACA Chartered Accountancy qualification aligned to your chosen service line
(Assurance, Tax or Transactions)

To be eligible
for the EY Business Apprenticeship in Tax, you should be studying towards, and expect to attain, three A-levels/five Scottish Highers, or equivalent.
