Job Description

We are recruiting a number of Engineering Apprentices for various sites across the UK including

This is a comprehensive training and development programme which starts with a 1 year full-time college course at Bournemouth & Poole College (accommodation provided) followed by day release college study. You will work towards a BTEC qualification plus in house practical skills training to NVQ level 3.

At Cobham we believe in giving you a broad experience and, where possible, the opportunity to try different things. Our products vary significantly in terms of technology, application, complexity and size. As a result, the working environment can be very different from one site to another.

Most of our sites incorporate a rotational element to the Cobham Apprenticeship programme, this not only allows you to get a broader perspective of the Business, it also enables us to see what you are good at, with a view to finding the best possible fit for you going forward.

One day you could be laying up some composite moulds, assembling some complicated mechanical or electronic products or even carrying out maintenance on one of our aircraft. The next you could be taking part in a quality audit, writing a technical report or modifying engineering drawings.

Whatever you are doing it will all be designed to make the most of your skills and potential, giving you the best possible kick start to a challenging and rewarding career.

We value;

  1. Accountability – personal responsibility

  2. Commitment - don’t give up when things get tough

  3. Cooperation – to be a team player

  4. Excellence – set high standards and strive to meet them

Skills Required :

A solid level of Maths is essential.

You will be hard working, enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills.

You will need to be diligent with a positive attitude to work and study.

Good level of communication.

Future Prospects :

Successful completion of the Cobham Apprenticeship may then lead to further sponsorship to HNC, Foundation Degree or full degree courses.

Many of our Apprentices go on to senior roles in the Business.
