Job Description

This Advanced Apprenticeship role is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing retail business and unlock your career potential and play a part in its future success.



On the ‘Retail Management Development Programme’ you will take on the role as an Assistant Store Manager, supporting the Store Manager by achieving store retail targets, setting daily priorities and overseeing day-to-day activity and running of the shop.



As an Assistant Store Manager you will learn to inspire the store team to drive sales and deliver the very best customer service imaginable. When the Store Manager isn’t there it’s up to you to take accountability for the overall operation of the store and make sure the team stays motivated and performing at their best. This gives you an incredible opportunity to grow your leadership skills by supporting, training and coaching Claire’s team members—developing your skills and boosting your career potential.



About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Claire’s, you will support your Store Manager with the following;




  • Driving and achieving retail store targets.

  • Agreeing daily priorities and overseeing day to day activity.

  • Inspiring your store team to drive sales and deliver the finest level of customer service.

  • Ensuring your store is well merchandised and commercially correct.

  • Keeping the store running smoothly.

  • Training and coaching the store team to enhance their skills and career development.

  • Ear piercing (you will receive full training).



In the absence of your Store Manager you will learn how to take accountability for the overall operation of your store ensuring high levels of team performance and business results.



About You

You’ll possess the following experience, skills and attributes;




  • Customer Service Experience

  • Preferably experience of responsibility within a team

  • Understanding of achieving KPI targets.

  • Passionate about retail and fashion.

  • Customer focused and results driven.

  • Have visual merchandising skills.

  • Have excellent communication, planning and organising skills.

  • Demonstrate the ability to develop, motivate and coach a team to achieve impressive sales and business results.

  • Ideally have experience of working within fashion accessories or jewellery.

  • Be motivated and driven to learn and develop your skills through the apprenticeship programme.

  • Committed to the completion of your management training and fulfill ambition to become a member of the store management team.

You will be on the ‘Retail Management Development’ Apprenticeship for 15 months and complete your Level 3 in Retail Team Leading.



As part of the selection process we may contact you for a short telephone interview, and If you are successfully shortlisted for a face to face interview, you will be asked to complete a small pre-interview project.
