Job Description

This Apprenticeship role has been developed in line with the Standard and forms part of the Marine Data Products team, which provides added-value products and services based on a wide range of marine environmental data and deliver these results through both desktop applications and web based portals designed to run in a browser environment. These applications and web tools aim to make the large data sets more accessible and aid in visualisation and interpretation of the results.




  • Using the latest technology and standards, you will contribute to development and implementation of front end web visualisation tools which will interface with server side software and then display results/queries as well as allowing the user to interact with the data

  • It is expected that clear and concise documentation is written and catalogued providing a reference guide for future work and maintenance

  • The post holder will have a background in computer science and software development to A-level computer science standard or equivalent. They will have some familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript



The post holder will undertake a 1 year training programme in order to achieve this Level 3 or 4 apprenticeship qualification equipping them to work as a Web App Developer within the Marine Data Products Team.  Upon successful completion of the Level 4 standard you may be given the opportunity to undertake a further 1 year higher level apprenticeship.



This Apprenticeship will be at Level 3 or Level 4 depending on previous qualifications.
