Job Description

At Oxford International Greenwich, we run English plus excursions courses for groups of international students staying in homestay accommodation with local families. Students attending our programmes typically receive a combination of 15 hours English language tuition and a comprehensive programme of activities and excursions.

Working for us is so much more than leading activities. You will be part of a large and welcoming group of teachers and activity leaders who strive to work together to make the experience of our students the best they could possibly get. We understand that there are more relaxing ways to spend your time than looking after a group of lively, inquisitive and often noisy teenagers from all around the World, but there are not many that are more fun and rewarding! We believe that we offer staff and students wonderful opportunities: to meet people from around the world, to enhance their CV, to develop skills and, of course, to earn a few quid along the way.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
• 8:15am - Meet my group at the Meeting Point to travel with them into school, nice and early to tell them about the day.
• 9:00am – Arrive at school and help the students to find their classroom.
• 10:45am – Break Duty. Help the teachers to try and keep the students energy and enthusiasm to a tolerable level!
• 1:00 pm - Take the students on a walking tour along the Thames as well as going on the London Eye. Tell a few stories and have a lot of chat along the way.
• 5:00pm - Jump back on the train to head back to homestay.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Native or near native level of English speaking and writing.
• Great organisational skills with a proactive planning approach.
• Flexibility, adaptability and ability to cope with changing priorities.
• A drive to work with fun, likeminded people to work collaboratively and contribute to team success.
• The ability to motivate a group of young people.
• Be a confident, outgoing and sociable character.
• Have a positive, “can-do” approach to work.
• Demonstrate high levels of professional conduct.
• Demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity.
Applicants will be shortlisted solely on the extent to which they meet these requirements.

OIEG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The post holder’s responsibilities for safeguarding the welfare of the young students for whom they are responsible will be to adhere to the OIEG Child Protection Policy. All the Oxford International Junior Programmes employees are subject to enhanced DBS check.
