Job Description

At Oxford International, we run residential camps for international students during the Easter and summer holidays. Students attending our programmes typically receive a combination of 15 hours English language tuition and a comprehensive programme of activities and excursions.

Working for us is so much more than teaching or leading activities. We understand that there are more relaxing ways to spend an Easter or Summer break than working on a residential programme. We believe though that we offer staff and students wonderful opportunities: to meet people from around the world, to enhance their CV, to develop skills and, of course, to earn a few quid.

Activity Leaders run and lead the students’ social programme. You should have a genuine enthusiasm to work with young people and be able to work independently, flexibly and as part of a team. The social programme consists of onsite activities and excursions to other parts of the UK

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Native or near native level of English speaking and writing.
  • Great organisational skills with a proactive planning approach.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to cope with changing priorities.
  • A drive to work with fun, likeminded people to work collaboratively and contribute to team success.
  • The ability to motivate a group of young people.
  • Be a confident, outgoing and sociable character.
  • Have a positive, “can-do” approach to work.
  • Demonstrate high levels of professional conduct.
  • Demonstrate respect for equal opportunities and respect for race and diversity.

Applicants will be shortlisted solely on the extent to which they meet these requirements.

OIEG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The post holder’s responsibilities for safeguarding the welfare of the young students for whom they are responsible will be to adhere to the OIEG Child Protection Policy. All the Oxford International Junior Programmes employees are subject to enhanced DBS check.

You will be required to submit two references, which will be asked to comment on your suitability to work with young people.

Qualifications

  • Must have previous experience of working with children
