Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities:



The job description sets out the main duties of the post at the time it was drawn up. Such duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post. The following list is intended to give an indication of the range of duties and responsibilities attached to the post of Apprentice Course Information Advisor and does not attempt to specify all aspects of the role:




  • To offer initial advice and guidance on course choice in response to enquiries in person, by email and on the telephone.

  • To identify the need for more in-depth guidance where necessary and refer to the appropriate member of staff.

  • Track all enquiries to a conclusion.

  • Maintain and record all enquiries on the client information database.

  • Carry out the mailmerge and mailshot of information to prospective learners on a daily basis.

  • Liaise with teaching and support staff to provide accurate information to clients.

  • Maintain a resource of all curriculum promotional information (e.g. prospectuses) and issue accordingly.

  • Provide enquiry reports and statistics on a monthly basis and as required for specific purposes e.g. marketing.

  • Represent the College at open events, exhibitions, careers conventions where time allows.

  • Checks quality and accuracy of own work

  • Actively listens and communicates effectively

  • Manages and organises own work into a logical and practical way

  • The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Able to gather and interpret data to support problem solving

  • Able and confident to make decisions independently, if required



Skills Required :

  • Experience of accurately inputting data

  • Experience of handling Data protection issues

  • Experience of working to tight deadlines

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment

  • Experience in a customer service role

  • Readily shares own knowledge and experience

  • Works effectively as a member of a team

  • Takes responsibility for getting things done as part of a team

  • Is responsible and committed to achieving targets and deadlines

  • Provides a positive and professional, friendly service

  • Suggests ideas to improve service standards

Future Prospects : On the completion of the apprenticeship there maybe an offer of a permanent position to the right candidate.
