Job Description

 



This is an outstanding role with a fast growing; supportive company and a great place for a budding web developer to kick start their career in software! The job vacancy goes excellently with the level 3 apprenticeship in software development and the business can offer great exposure to the world of web. The day to day tasks of the role will include, but not be limited to, the following:




  • Making website amendments on over 1000 websites

  • Creating high quality artwork using Adobe Suite

  • Optimising maximum speed and performance for customer platforms

  • Using multiple coding languages to develop new user-facing features

  • Troubleshooting and improving usability of websites and platforms with assistance and guidance from colleagues



The successful individual will be responsible for working within the Web Change Team to support in the general site maintenance of over 1,000 websites.



The chosen candidate will have a keen eye and passion for coding, in addition to implementing high quality content to match current company branding standards as a matter of continuity.



The apprentice will also respond to incoming communications with confidence and courtesy and have ability to work under pressure while problem solving customer facing issues.



All training and support will be given on the above throughout the apprenticeship.

Skills Required :

  • A good understanding of cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, issues and how to potentially implement ‘workarounds’

  • A basic understanding of scripting (particularly JavaScript frameworks including jQuery)

  • Some knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation principles

  • An understanding of web mark-up language, including HTML5 & CSS3

  • Ability to create high quality graphics using Adobe suite including programmes such as Photoshop

  • An understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms such as LESS
