Job Description
Responsibilities:
- To uphold and promote the ethos of the nursery and deliver quality of services in line with the business mission.
- To learn how to keep a room clean, safe, warm welcoming and family friendly.
- To learn how to deliver the EYFS Statutory Framework to a high standard.
- To learn how to communicate effectively with colleagues and with management.
- To learn how to identify shortages in nursery equipment and/or resources and how to report these to the room leader.
- To learn how to monitor child progress and how to maintain learning records.
- To learn how to deliver activities that help children to achieve the outcomes of the development matters in the EYFS.
- To learn how to identify your own training and development requirements.
- To learn how to research and keep abreast of changes and trends within the childcare sector and changes to the EYFS.
- To learn about the nurseries data protection, equal opportunities and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- To learn about the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of children, parents, staff and other persons and learn how to develop risk assessments.
- To learn about the stakeholders in a child’s learning, development and wellbeing, e.g. parents, colleagues, other children, Ofsted, Local Authorities, Social Services, NHS, Sure Start and other childcare settings.
- To learn about safeguarding and the designated safeguarding officer.
- To learn about handling complaints and reporting them to the manager.
- To learn about all records relating to medicines, accidents and incidents.
- To learn about the importance of continuing professional development.
- Other duties that are deemed necessary for the post holder to perform their duty to the highest standard without substantially changing the character of the post.

Future Prospects : Progression onto the Level 3 Early Years Advanced Apprenticeship depending on performance on Level 2 programme.
