Job Description

Teknomek are looking for an Apprentice CAD Assistant (Business Administration) to join their team in Norwich. 



Whilst completing your Business Administration Apprenticeship, you will start as an assistant and you will learn all aspects of the business. The role will include duties such as assisting with administration activities, typing and updating documents, logging and maintaining detailed records, as well as, using a range of IT software. This role will also incorporate elements of a CAD design engineer.



Working on a variety of software packages that will include Solid Works and Auto CAD you will create 3D models and designs to a high standard. Working as part of the team your duties will include designing products within the boundaries of the machinery available, adhering to health and safety, understanding sheet metal operations and fabricated products and working within the scope of ISO 9001.



It is understood that the successful candidate will be working towards many of the skills set out above whilst studying a Business Administration Apprenticeship. This will enable the individual to be immersed in the business and learn all aspects. The successful candidate will also complete a CAD operators course alongside their training. 


Personal Qualities :

Good sense of humour and willingness to get on with a variety of people from customers and colleagues in different departments within the organisation, good attention to detail , flexible approach to work, have a “can-do” approach, a mathematical mind with an aptitude for mechanical processes. Ability to work as part of a team, but also to take the initiative and be self-motivated. 



Skills Required :

Some experience using CAD packages, a real artistic flair, excellent communication skills and ability to “sell” your ideas. Understanding of spatial awareness and visualising initial designs as 3D objects. 



Future Prospects : Upon demonstrating the correct level of personal skill and commitment, as well as successfully completing the Apprenticeship programme our apprentice would be offered the opportunity to continue their personal development within our team.
