Job Description
- Supporting the Head Chef, ensuring high levels of food preparation and presentation.
- You will be trained in and be responsible for Food Safety
- You will be trained in and be responsible for Health & Safety
- You will learn how to manager Food costs
- You will be trained in how to prepare and cook current and changing menu items
- Assisting with Stock ordering
- Assisting with Stock Rotation
- Ensure the kitchen is thoroughly clean and the cleaning schedule is adhered to daily and weekly tasks allocated
Personal Qualities :
A passion for food and a willingness to learn.
You should be a team player and understand that at times you may have to cover the pot wash or cover the restaurant but by doing this you will get a better understanding of the hospitality trade.
You should also be flexible and understand that just because the restaurant closes at a set time that does not mean the kitchen will.
You could still be sending orders out up to an hour later.
Skills Required :
- Good timekeeping
- Ability to listen to instruction
- Ability to work efficiently in a team
- A willingness to learn and develop
Future Prospects : This could lead to a full time position with the completion of the qualification. Then the longer goal would be to take control of the kitchen.
