Job Description

Administration Support:




  • Provide administrative support for all areas of the support function of the practice where required.

  • Assist with updating and ensuring that all the practice polices and protocols stores on the intranet (Intradoc) are monitored and kept up to date.

  • General Admin support as required.

  • Assist in the administrative process for receiving and providing medical and insurance reports.

  • Deal with Travel Questionnaires received by the practice in a timely manner.

  • Assist with the required administration for immunisations and smears so it is dealt with within the required timescales.



Reception:




  • Ensure an effective reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice.

  • Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.

  • Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.

  • Assist in all administration related to the work of the reception team.

  • Ensure that the waiting room is kept tidy (in turn with other staff) Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately as necessary.

  • Flexibility in working hours as required.

  • Good sense of humour.

  • Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team.

  • Pleasant and articulate.

  • Ability to use own judgement.



Skills Required :

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Able to think and plan ahead using own initiative.

  • Able to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
