Job Description
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
Your main role is to support the delivery of high quality sessions that improve participation across Warwickshire. This involves both coaching practical sessions as well as creating initiatives to create excitement about participation and raise awareness of physical activity and health.
- Provide high quality physical education and sports coaching delivery, during and after school. This will be within a variety of different schools.
- Improve competitive sport provision and support festival provision, including supporting the School Games programme.
- Provide administrative support to NW Active and their delivery team.
- Provide support to Physical Education lessons delivered by NW Active Staff.
- Provide OSHL activities suitable within apprentice’s range of qualifications and experience.
- Provide high quality cycle training sessions upon the completion of National Standard Instructor Training.
- Coordinate Bikeability scheme required paperwork on behalf of NW Active.
- Provide a young, inspirational role model to students.
- Monitor and maintain NW Active Resources.
- To complete the necessary work set through studying the PE & School Sport Apprenticeship programme, and attend the weekly training at Pingles Athletics Stadium, Nuneaton.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of this post.
- To attend continued professional workshops provided by Northern Warwickshire Active.
Personal Qualities :
- Enthusiasm
- Able to take instruction and willing to learn
- Self-motivated a desire to pursue a PE and school sports career
- Willing to work in multiple locations.
Skills Required :
- Good communication skills, a good time keeper,
- Ability to work as part of a team, some experience of Sports Coaching,
- Some experience of working with children
Future Prospects : Previous apprentices have gained full time employment with ourselves and we view these positions as training opportunities for the future.
