Job Description


  • Are you interested in cars and the motor trade?  If successful, you will be employed by one of the many Retail Centres located all around the UK. The Parts Department is the centre.

  • As a full member of the Centre team, the Parts Advisor co-ordinates all parts sales, to make sure that customers and Technicians are always able to have the parts they need when they need them. This involves using the Centre's sophisticated computer system to log stock movements and produce orders, liaising with their colleagues, developing their selling skills to improve parts sales performance and dealing with enquiries from both trade and retail customers.

  • As you are employed by a local Centre for the duration of your apprenticeship, all your training fees and hotel accommodation, while away on training, will be paid for by your Toyota/Lexus Centre.  Apprentices stay at the Mercure Hotel, Derby. If you live locally, you'll have the option of travelling from home each day. Travel and accommodation are arranged and paid for by your centre (dealership). A bus service to and from the Academy is provided by the hotel. Breakfast and evening meals are included in the hotel costs and there are restaurant facilities at the Academy at lunchtimes and break times.

  • Your apprenticeship will last two years. During this time you will attend block release training at our state of the art training centre in Derby for 10 weeks. For the remaining weeks you will be working full time in a Retail Centre.



Duties:




  • Stock control.

  • Taking inbound and outbound calls from customers.

  • Shadowing qualified parts advisors.

  • Using computer system to order parts.

  • Computer literate.



Future Prospects : A competent parts adviser has many transferable skills throughout the retail motor industry. It is not uncommon for Parts Advisors to progress through the ranks to become, Parts Managers, After Sales Managers, Service Managers, even Dealer Principals!
