Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate (Technical /Engineering/Business Process) to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for an Graduate to work in the Learning Department, based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 12 months working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying 20K pro rata.Main Job PurposeThe role of the Graduate Technical Writer is to generate new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and update existing ones to support specified manufacturing operationsFunctional Objectives:* Generate information related to equipment and manufacturing procedures* Use a number of differing medias to illustrate technical processes* Collaborate with the leadership and engineering teams to ensure accuracy of technical documentation* Work to exacting deadlines* Develop an understanding of the requirement of the SOP's being documentedRole Requirements:* Must have ability to understand and explain technical data and information in a simplistic language for end users to understand and follow* Ability to influence and partner others to get the desired result that the user can adapt * Ability to work alongside operators in a manufacturing environment to understand their role and document specific processes* Must be able to use a variety of word, spreadsheet and graphics tools (MS Office)* Must have experience in being able to gather and convert data into a logically structured written narrative* Can work in a fast paced environment * Can demonstrate editorial & proof-reading skills as well as a very high attention to detailSkills, Knowledge & Experience Requirements:Experience:The job holder should: Have a high level of organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignmentsHold good level of understanding in relation to: How people learnHow SOPS & One point lessons support 'on the job' learning & assessmentPrevious experience (months) of process writing (picture diagrams that will need wording added). Stakeholder engagement - working with the production team (visiting the shop floor to see the machine working and then writing up the step by step process)Key Competencies:MS Office proficiencyGood level of data analysisOther Attributes:Skills: Confidentiality / Good Communication & People skillsAbilities: Work on own initiative / Problem solve / Organise and manage time Personal Attributes: Decisive & Flexible.
