Job Description

Claims Apprenticeships (Claims and Debt Recovery Claims Handler)

We are looking for Apprentices to join our Claims and Debt Recovery departments for a 2 year apprenticeship programme.

As well as gaining practical on-the-job experience within our claims team, you can achieve Level 3 Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications -- studying General Insurance and Insurance Claims Handling.

The home and motor claims teams assist our customer through the initial registration of their claim. It is not always easy, as customers can often be upset or in stressful situations. So you’ll need to take the time to talk through the claim whilst gathering accurate information and ensuring you are being empathetic and understanding to the customer’s situation. The role has real variety as it works closely with the customer and third party suppliers daily.

As a Debt Recovery Advisor you will work to manage the recovery of non-fault claims debt and will be responsible for managing a claim from registration through to settlement. You will need to communicate effectively with customers and both internal and external stakeholders throughout the process, providing a high level of service.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will secure a permanent, full-time position within our Claims department – subject to your performance and completion of studies.

Salary and Hours

  • 35 hours per week over Monday to Sunday (Debt Recovery is Monday – Friday). Shift patterns discussed interview stage
  • Varies dependant on the role (visit the ‘where can I find out more section’). You’ll be eligible for an annual bonus of up to £500 subject to your performance
  • 22 days holiday a year (plus 8 bank holidays)
