Job Description

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Analyst Programmer to join our client based in Solihull on a 2 year Graduate Programme. Job Title: Graduate Analyst ProgrammerLocation: SolihullSalary: CompetitivePurpose of the role:Within a structured environment, the Graduate Analyst Programmer will assist in the delivery of business software to existing clients. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will work on multiple projects from concept through to completion and maintenance. Duties include; Programming maintenance and debugging all aspects of project code. Design and implementation of systems based on outline specifications provided by the Directors and clients. Produce program code and specifications to the required standards and quality. Practice test driven development (TDD) and write automated tests. Support system integration testing including input into test planning. Proactive identification and implementation of service improvements. Accuracy of fixes demonstrated by minimal/zero downtime of live systems and by meeting stated SLA. Maintain a continuing knowledge of programming languages and acquire new skills as the on-going systems development requires. The successful candidate will hold an IT Related degree with a minimum 2.1 classification and will have structured programming knowledge and demonstrable use of Java or a similar language, e.g. C# and relational database skills (SQL). You will have experience of the full project life-cycle and will have strong written and verbal communication skills.A willingness to learn P4; a java based, proprietary 4th generation language is required. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of standards, methods and tools; selecting and applying the most appropriate as well as demonstrating an understanding of the application areas, development environment and project life cycle.You must be authorised to live and work in the UK and be willing to travel to client sites (including overnight stays) when required.You will be available to attend an assessment day if you are selected on the 7th/8th June 2017.To find out more about this opportunity then please apply online.
