Job Description

Activity Leaders are required for our young summer learning programme to be held at Trinity Laban Centre, Greenwich. Courses are aimed at students aged 11-17 years and focus on providing a high-quality English language course combined with an exciting activities and excursions programme.

As an Activity Leader, you will be part of a team that delivers a varied, exciting and culturally enriching programme to young students. You will be working to deliver a wide range of afternoon and evening on-site activities, which may include sports, arts and crafts, music and drama workshops, quizzes, themed discos, karaoke and talent shows. Off-campus, much of your day will be spent in and around London, so it is important that you are comfortable using public transport and to be able to think fast on your feet.

12.07% of your gross pay will be added to all employees' final salary in lieu of unused holiday.

The ideal candidate must be:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Native or near-native level English speaker based in the UK
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and have the energy levels to lead 11 to 17 year olds
  • Approachable, friendly, and able to build a strong rapport with young people
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Able to use own initiative and work as part of a team
  • Flexible, creative and adaptable

The following are desirable:

  • First aid qualification
  • Knowledge of London
  • Experience in leading/training a sports, leisure team or similar team
  • Previous experience as an Activity Leader / Instructor in a residential role (although this may be waived in the event of a promising or otherwise oustanding application)
  • Experience of working with children/teenagers in a similar environment

Qualifications

  • If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
  • You must be able to speak English fluently
