Job Description

Company Profile

Minor Entertainment was created in 2009 to produce spectacular family theatre events in unique spaces. Over the last seven years our first production, In the Night Garden Live (ItNGL), has toured across the UK in a purpose built inflatable theatre and has been seen by over 800,000 people. In 2017, ItNGL is touring again and we require Front of House Staff for performances in Blackheath and Richmond Old Deer Park, London.

Further information about the show can be found at the event website: www.nightgardenlive.com.

Front of House Steward roles

The In the Night Garden Live Showdome is touring to two London venues this summer:

Blackheath, London (SE10 8QY) 25 May - 10 June 2017

Richmond Old Deer Park, London (TW9 2SF) 17 June - 5 July 2017

Minor Entertainment is recruiting fantastic, friendly Front of House Staff to look after our audiences during their visit to the Showdome at these locations. Customer service is extremely important to us and your contribution will be crucial to the experience our audiences have at ItNGL.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of FOH work in a theatre or event environment, but must have some experience of customer service. You should be friendly, confident, numerate, a good communicator, good with people and be able to show initiative in dealing with customer queries. Applications from those with current first aid training certificates or those with experience using the ‘VIA’ box office system are particularly welcomed. All FOH staff for In the Night Garden Live must be over 18.

Duties will include greeting customers, scanning tickets, assisting with customer enquiries, stewarding audience entry and exit, keeping the venue clean, selling merchandise, serving food and drink, helping with our ‘Meet a Character’ sessions, assisting with the box office and other duties as requested by the Venue Manager and Front of House Manager.

Supervisor roles

There are Supervisor roles in the Front of House team that we’re looking to fill from the pool of Front of House applicants. If you’re interested in being considered for a Supervisor role, please specify this in your application and be sure to tell us if you have any experience:

  • Supervising a team in a theatre, event or retail environment
  • Cash handling and using a till
  • Stock checking

Dates and pay

Pay for Stewards is £7.75 per hour and for Supervisors is £8.25 per hour, which is based on you working all of your scheduled shifts (if you miss a shift you’ll be paid £7.50 per hour).

We’re looking for staff with excellent availability to work at both our London venues - Blackheath and Richmond. Please specify on your application the venues you are interested in being considered for. On each performance day there are 4 performances at 10:00, 12:00, 14.00 and 16.00, so you will need to be available until 6.30pm each day. Shifts will vary and you will be given a minimum of 1 day off per week.
