Job Description

Are you a caring and reliable person? If you have a passion to work in the health and social care industry, this fantastic opportunity for a Apprentice Care Assistant could be right for you.



Your role will be based with Anchor where you will play a key part in supporting and meeting the basic physical and social needs of the residents, in a way that maintains their dignity, privacy and independence. You will receive ongoing support and development that will provide you with the skills and knowledge required for a successful career within health and social care.



If you are successful candidate for this position, you will be expected to provide a high level of service to the residents.



Some of your duties include:

• Observing and report any changes in the condition of residents

• Making a friendly and homely environment for residents

• Assisting other staff to lift and turn bedridden residents

• Helping residents to move around and communicate

• Helping to shower and bathe the residents

• Assisting residents with dressing and eating

• Making sure that an adequate supply of clean clothing and linen is available for residents

• Serving meals

• Maintain and complete accurate documentation of all care and support undertaken. Recognise, document and report any changes in the care plan, and participate in customer reviews as required.

• Assist in keeping the location clean, safe and odour free for customers.

• Comply with CQC essential standards and Anchors policies and procedures at all times

• Prioritising tasks as appropriate

• Escalate concerns/issues as appropriate

• Accurate and legible documentation

• Delivering care plan

• Identify and reporting signs of poor practice or abuse

• Identifying and ensuring health and safety standards are met



This is just a sample of some of the tasks you might be performing - it is a very varied role.



You will be earning £130 per week, after 6 months this will increase to £150 per week. There is also the opportunity to pick up additional shifts at full pay after 50% completion.
