Job Description
The role of Apprentice Chef will be expected to uphold a personal professional standard whilst on shift, and will learn the essentials of working in a busy kitchen whilst developing into a professional Chef. This will include:
- Maintaining a safe, clean and hygienic working environment.
- Producing high quality, consistent and attractive food.
- Developing a strong communicative relationship with the kitchen and serving teams.
- Strict adherence to all the National Food Standards Agency and HACCAP regulations and legalities.
- Accepting, storing and rotating stock in accordance with HACCP regulations and restaurant procedures.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting food with care and attention to detail, upholding standards of quality and consistency.
- Completing due diligence and compliance paperwork accurately and within a timely fashion.
- Abiding by all regulations with regards to food preparation and storage.
- Developing professional practice skills within a fast paced working kitchen.
- Ensuring high levels of cleanliness, personally and within the kitchen and stores, through regular cleaning abiding by COSHH regulations and good practice.
- Personal enthusiasm and the ability to develop through on-the-job learning and observation.
- A flexible approach to working times and hours to suit the needs of the business.
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion to become a chef and will want to grow and learn all aspects of the industry.
This position will give the top candidate the chance to progress right up the career ladder and we will invest a great deal of time and effort to support the best individual. In the longer term, and for the right person, this may lead to substantial opportunities for the apprentice to progress through within the sector.
