Job Description

Stockdales recognises, and values their Apprentices, which is reflected in the fantastic starting pay rate of £5.30 per hour! You would work as part of a care and support team, providing support for individuals with physical, health, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence, whilst preparing, assisting and enabling individuals to fulfill the aims of their person centered plan. Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is the priority for all employees.



A normal day would include:




  • Supporting Service Users who have a variety of needs for which they will require varying levels of support. In order to provide the necessary support the staff team will work shifts allocated by the Service Manager or delegated deputy.

  • This may include weekends, evenings, bank holidays (Inc cover over the Christmas period). 

  • A number of administrative hours will be spent attending meetings, supervision/ appraisal, training and service user reviews.

  • It is an expectation that the post holder will successfully complete the Stockdales induction and foundation programme and relevant training within the required timescales set by Stockdales.

  • The post holder will be expected to participate in care planning, risk assessments, key working, liaising with service users’ families, report writing, attending meetings, being proactive in relevant training and working as a team, as well as supporting the service users as appropriate to meet their needs whilst encouraging independence.

  • However, the nature of the work of Stockdales is varied and in many instances unpredictable. All staff are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks that have not been covered in the job description have to be undertaken.

  • At all times, the post holder is expected to conduct themselves professionally, to work within the current legislative framework and adhere to Stockdales Policies and Procedures.

  • This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive; it is issued as a framework to outline the main areas of responsibility and is open to change and review at any time. Also this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check



Starting rate of £5.30 per hour for a 6 month probationary period.  Then on successful completion of your probationary period the rate increases to £7.20 per hour, when the L2 is completed, and you have been signed off, your hourly rate will increase to £8.00 per hour.
