Cheriton Care Centre is made up of 2 ajoining homes ;

Formerly known as Avenue House Care Home, Badbury Care Home is now managed by local Weymouth based care provider Agincare Homes Holdings. Badbury Care Home and neighbouring Maumbury Nursing Home (formerly Greenbushes Nursing Home) have undergone a £1/2million refurbishment programme during the course of 2015. Maumbury has undergone a complete refurbishment and re-opened in the Summer of 2015 as a specialist Nursing Home.



Maumbury Care & Nursing Home has just completed a £½ million refurbishment programme and is now open as a specialist nursing home offering first class nursing & residential care in a 5 star, comfortable, relaxed and traditional environment.



Cheriton Care Centre has a fantastic apprenticeship in the Dorchester area that could be the perfect start to your career in the Healthcare sector. If you're caring, compassionate and have the desire to truly enrich other people's lives, then this is the role for you.



You'll need great communication skills and a positive outlook, along with sincere empathy for those around you. You will play a key role in supporting and meeting the physical and social needs of individuals, in a way that maintains their dignity, privacy and independence.



Some of your duties could include:




  • observing and report any changes in the condition of residents

  • making a friendly and homely environment for residents

  • assisting other staff to lift and turn bedridden residents

  • helping residents to move around and communicate

  • helping to shower and bathe the residents

  • assisting residents with dressing and eating

  • making sure that an adequate supply of clean clothing and linen is available for residents 

  • serving meals







Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship you will have gained a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Social Care or Healthcare Support Services, along with functional skills in Maths, English & ICT.



This Apprenticeship will give you a huge sense of fulfilment, creating friendships and memories that will last you a lifetime and setting you up for a successful career in healthcare.
