This is a great opportunity for surveying students or recent graduates to get some real on-site land surveying experience and work alongside practicing surveyors.
Our Company: MHTC Ltd is a specialist traffic and transport data collection company. We carry out transport and parking surveys of all different types across the country.
The Project: One of our current projects is to survey the parking regulations (eg the yellow and red lines and marked parking bays on the road) in the boroughs of Kingston and Sutton. We are looking for three people to supplement our team. The work involves positioning, measuring and recording all the parking regulations in the borough. We will use mobile survey equipment and satellite positioning to record the regulations against a back drop of large scale mapping of the area.
There are more than 400km of road in each borough, so there is a large amount to survey. Each person will work for approximately 40 hours per week over the period mid October to mid January. You should expect to work two days on and one day off, during daylight hours and including weekends.
Qualifications

Type of person: We are looking for undergraduates or graduates with relevant degrees (civil engineering, geomatics, geography). Some experience of land surveying or map production is required. We will use mobile survey equipment and satellite positioning to record the regulations against a back drop of large scale mapping of the area. You will also need to be able to work alone, be methodical, and committed to collecting accurate data. You will also need to be fit as the work will be conducted on foot.
Pay and Conditions: This is a full time temporary placement. The rate of pay will depend on qualifications and experience and will be between £9.40 and £12/hr. We pay staff on a fortnightly basis by BACS transfer for work conducted within the month.
