Care Assistant - Longwood Place, Basildon

Salary - 6,576 - 7,018.81 + 10% for working flexible

Permanent Contract

Parttime
This position is working within a residential home for adults with Disabilities.

Shift Pattern is arranged on a rota basis between Monday to Sunday 7am - 10pm

Work pattern includes alternate weekends, Bank Holidays and Christmas.

We are currently seeking Care Assistants to provide a caring, enabling, safe and secure homely environment for the adults with a disability at Longwood Place short break residential service, all support is delivered in a manner that enables each person to be as independent as possible and support their needs in accordance with their person centred care plans.

This will include providing personal care and supporting service users to access social and leisure activities according to their needs and wishes. The role also includes continuous monitoring of individuals emotional and general wellbeing.

The successful candidates will possess:
* Some experience of working within a care setting, preferably with adults with a learning disability
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to work as a team member.
* Awareness of a person entered approach
* Awareness of respect, dignity and privacy, promoting choice.
* Awareness of the need to be flexible committed and passionate to always strive to do personal best
* Understanding of and the ability to develop knowledge of the needs of individuals and legislation in respect of Vulnerable Adults, Mental Capacity and other such relevant legislation policy and procedure as appropriate
* An expectation to undertake the common induction standards
* An expectation to undertake training in Manual Handling, First Aid Awareness, Food Hygiene, Risk and Conflict Management, Data Protection and Health and Safety and other core training is relevant to the role

* A full driving licence, with access to a vehicle for business purposes and business car insurance would be an advantage
