Job Description

In Kind Direct, one of The Prince’s Charities, redistributes donated goods from manufacturers and retailers to UK charities working at home and abroad. We provide a unique and increasingly important service, helping companies reduce their waste and environmental impact, and enabling charities to stretch their limited budgets.

We have an exciting internship available providing an opportunity for the post holder to gain a range of marketing and communications experience within a growing and dynamic charity. This position will support the work of the Marketing and Communications department. Our intern scheme has been running for several years and has provided a hugely valuable springboard for people starting out in the sector or looking to diversify or expand their experience.

As part of this internship, there may be an opportunity for the post holder to spend some time on a placement with one of In Kind Direct’s trustees’ companies or partner charities to help expand his or her experience in brand marketing, PR and other marketing and communications areas.

Main duties:

  • Designing professional-looking collateral including brochures, leaflets and emails, posters and web banners on PC Adobe suite.
  • Frequently updating the website and ensuring content is accurate and relevant to our target audiences.
  • Developing and engaging with In Kind Direct’s social media community including Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn.
  • Compiling media contact lists for news distribution.
  • Updating and optimising our Google Ad Words account.
  • Updating reports and analysing performance.
  • Assisting with the development of the website to improve SEO and usability.
  • General office duties as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience of managing marketing campaigns
  • Experience of SEO and PPC including Google Ad Words

Qualifications

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a marketing/arts/design/computer related subject
    • Experience of creative software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
    • Excellent writing and numeracy skills
    • Competent using social media platforms
    • Well organised and able to prioritise workload.
    • Confident telephone manner
    • Keen and willing to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks when required
  • If successful, you must have permission to work in the UK by the start of your employment
  • You must be able to speak English fluently
