Job Description
Under the instruction/guidance of senior staff to provide PE support within the school. Responsible under the direction of the Head teacher or any other nominated person. Duties will include supporting the school in all areas of PE during lessons. Leading games during break and lunch times. Setting up and co-ordinating the equipment required for PE activities. Duties also include maintaining the general upkeep of equipment, PE store areas and reporting damaged equipment/organising restock/repair.
Responsibilities to other staff:-
- To ensure support to classes within the area of PE across the school.
- Support staff in the organisation of games events, focus on lunch times.
- To support with the maintenance and smooth running of the PE activities across the site.
- To work with the PE co-ordinators within school and assist in the organisation of inclusive activities across the lunch time break for pupils.
- Responsibilities to the Organisations:-
- Support students across the two schools in curricular time as part of the Core PE programme in Key Stage 1 & 2.
- Support staff during break times and lunchtimes in the leading of sporting/games activities.
- Support with planning and delivery of PE and Sport activities during lesson, break and lunch times.
- Managing the Sports Resources, setting up for lessons etc.
- Support in the development of opportunities for joint activities across the two schools.
- To undertake other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and its level of responsibility.
- Extra - Curricular Programme Support:-
- Support with extra curricular activities as required.
- Assists Sports Co-ordinators with school festivals/events and in delivery of programmes.
- To be aware of, and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- To be aware of and support differences and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to develop.
- To contribute to overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
- To attend and participate in regular meetings, training and other activities as required.
- To recognise own strengths and areas of specialist expertise and use these to lead, advise and support others.
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
