Job Description
We have a vacancy for an apprentice to join our team to learn heating engineer/plumbing skills on the job, whilst attending college on a part-time basis. English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) will be required to satisfy the entrance requirements of the course at Exeter College.
The work will involve working alongside a professional heating engineer, installing central heating systems, boiler breakdowns and servicing. Plumbing will range from bathroom installations to leaky taps. You will sometimes in cramped spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions
The position will be for a fixed term of approximately two years to cover the training period with the possibility of further training as a Gas Fitter and the potential offer of permanent employment thereafter.
Applications are also welcomed from students who have completed their first year of the plumbing course.

- You should be a reliable teamworker, have a positive, hard working attitude and be keen with an strong aptitude to learn.
- Using your own initiative and asking questions is vital to this employer as is a responsible attitude.
- Good communication and listening skills are very important.
- Must be clean, tidy and organised and understand that good quality of service to the customer is important.
Skills Required :
- Excellent practical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others is essential in this role, as is an awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace.
- The right candidate will be prepared to listen, follow instructions and take guidance from experienced professionals.
Future Prospects : Possible progression to Level 3 for the right candidate.
