Job Description

A leading global integrated security company specialising in the provision of security products, services and solutions is seeking a Contract Accountant who is either newly qualified or part qualified and working towards a recognised accountancy qualification, to join its team in Tewkesbury. You will receive a pension, life assurance and 25 days annual leave.

As the Contract Accountant your duties will be to

Manage a portfolio of contracts for the business
Lead in the forecasting and reporting for one or more contracts
Complete monthly management accounts and accompanying trading packs explaining the monthly and year to date variances to budget
Follow the set processes and procedures to produce the management accounts in a timely manner for a number of key contracts
Ensure relevant balance sheet accounts are well maintained and properly controlled
Manage relationships with business partners and operational manager
Control all inputs to be able to produce accurate and detailed contract P Ls
Work closely with the operational managers to drive the monthly forecasting process for their contract, maintaining transparency and accuracy of information
Ensure necessary gaps bridges are completed for the contract P Ls
Produce timely and accurate management reporting to support the operational managers and business partners
Manage ad hoc requests for analysis from the business to support them with their decision making
Ensure the necessary contract controls are in place to ensure accurate accounting for the contract
Work to drive efficiencies and profit improvement plans
Travel, when required, to client sites to work with the operational managers
Support collation of business risks and opportunities at a business unit level.

To be a successful Contract Accountant you will have the following skills and experience

A newly qualified accountant or a part qualified professional working towards a recognised accounting qualification essential
Demonstrable Project Accounting experience essential
Ability to work with non finance operational employees and stakeholders of various levels
IT literate proven MS Excel and good MS office database skills essential
Experience in working in a fast paced, commercial environment desirable
Ability to act professionally at all times and a flexible manner
Strong communication skills with first class customer service.
