Job Description


  • To support community groups in the delivery of their activities.

  • To support the provision of advice and information to all sections of the general public, especially vulnerable citizens as requested on the activities and functions of the centre

  • To advise the Project Manager of activities and developments which occur within the centre

  • To take bookings as requested for the centre and coordinate multiple use of facilities

  • To undertake all duties in a manner which promotes BWA’s policies and procedures relating to equal opportunities and customer care

  • To assist the designated line manager and/or Management Committees in the delivery of community events

  • To ensure that all activities are within the remit of the post operate in accordance with Health and Safety Work Act Regulations, Department Safety Policy and Codes of Practice

  • To carry out administration for Management Committees and attend as required

  • To assist the Project Manager in identifying, monitoring and evaluating the Centre’s overall performance

  • To provide regular reports verbally and/or in writing, on the performance of services supported by the post holder

  • To support the monitoring of activities which assist in determining the performance of the services against racial equality standards, disabilities, discrimination, equal opportunities and corporate politics and procedures 

  • To carry out all duties with regard for the performance of services against racial equality standards, disabilities, discrimination, equal opportunities and corporate policies and procedures

  • To prepare the centre for community use as required 

  • To provide administration support including calling notices and minutes of meetings to community centre management committees as advised by Project Manager 

  • To undertake clerical duties to maintain proper records of bookings 

  • To ensure that BWA policies and procedures are adhered to at all times 

  • Use of technology as required.

Skills Required :

  • Be able to communicate with all age groups from a variety of ethnic minority backgrounds.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Due to the nature of the work involved, the ability to speak an ethnic minority language would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Good IT and keyboard skills

  • Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Demonstrate a professional and presentable image at all times.



Future Prospects : To achieve a Pearson BTEC Intermediate Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service.
