Job Description

The role of Digital Marketing Assistant will involve working as part of a small and busy team, supporting the organisation in the lead up to LDIF and BHM and other projects and events throughout the year.

The Digital Marketing Assistant will play an active role, supporting the delivery of these events by supporting administrative tasks, gaining firsthand experience of arts administration, and arts and festival management.





Key Responsibilities will include:




  • Social media and digital marketing (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Blog, e-flyers) – supporting the development of social media plans, creating content such as interviews with artists, photographs and video clips and updating social media. Designing and sending out e-flyers, updating contact databases. Monitoring social media statistics on a regular basis and reporting back to the team. 

  • Communications – supporting the marketing and PR of events. Tasks may include assisting with the production and distribution of brochures and mailouts, collating images and drafting content for brochures, arranging interviews with press and media, talking to the marketing departments of local venues, or contacting local schools and colleges regarding educational opportunities.

  • Event Organisation and Management – discussing with artists’ the details of their stay, liaising with artists and venues around requirements for the production, confirming artists’ accommodation and travel, helping put together event schedules.

  • General Administration – for example, drafting letters, printing labels, photocopying, organising meetings, note taking in meetings.


Personal Qualities :

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Good organisational ability and time management.

  • Comfortable working on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Interest in the arts and promoting diversity in the arts.

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to undertake a wide range of tasks.



Skills Required :

  • Good standard of ICT skills with Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity in using Photoshop, DropBox, WeTransfer, Google Mail and Mail Chimp is also desirable, but not essential.

  • Familiarity and confidence using social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.



Future Prospects : Further apprenticeship or employment.
