Campbell Property UK Ltd CP is a lively and entrepreneurial investment and asset management company that has developed and now operates over 100m of student accommodation. As a company we offer a great opportunity for those who thrive on being busy, and are looking for real responsibility.

The finance function has 3 distinct areas of responsibilities

The Campbell Property Company Finance function including sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, bank reconciliations, expenses and VAT
The Tenancy Finance Function including tenant rent, tenant deposits and management of the in house tenant data base. This function includes credit control and debt recovery
The Investment Finance function including performance management, management accounts and other financial analysis.The role will initially primarily focus on the Company Finance function, where regular tasks may include invoicing clients, performing bank reconciliations, paying bills and managing the employee expense process.

However, there will be some necessity and opportunity to work within the Tenancy finance function and the Investment Finance function. In addition to this, there will be occasions when the incumbent is asked to help out in other areas of the business, which is a great opportunity to see how the company works.

We will encourage you to study for the AAT or other accountancy qualifications, and will thus offer an element of study support to the successful candidate.

Skills Competencies

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of the following skills competencies, either within previous jobs, education or other life experience

Communication You must be a good communicator. You must be able to write confidently and correctly, and you must have a good telephone manner.
Microsoft Excel You will need to become a good intermediate user which will mean pivot tables, IF statements and other functions including lookups. If you didn't pay attention in these modules at school or University you will need to be prepared to catch up
Planning Prioritisation You will be capable of carrying out the day to day planning of your work. You will manage the prioritisation of tasks assigned to you.
Adaptability Flexibility You will be able to adapt to and support new processes and practices, be flexible and able to cope with changing departmental and organizational needs.
Teamwork You will contribute positively to company morale and spirit. You will be just as happy making the tea and answering the phone, as you are helping to implement new procedures or performing a difficult reconciliation.
Discretion As part of the finance team, you will have access to information not in the general company domain. Hence discretion and professionalism will be expected at all times.
