Job Description

Oxford International Easter Activity Leader Jobs

UIC is looking to recruit Teacher/Activity Leaders at its residential summer courses at Box Hill school, St. George’s Ascot and St. Mary’s Ascot.

At UIC we believe learning should be an adventure. We have built a strong reputation for providing fun and well-organised language and activity courses for young learners. Our friendly, dedicated teams are committed to providing young learners with an experience they will never forget.

The summer schools programmes offer students aged 7-17 the chance to take part in English language lessons and an activity programme of full and half-day excursions, sports, dance and drama workshops, themed parties, discos and many more. There is also a strong cultural strand to the curriculum which allows the students to explore the cultures that make up the UK.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

- The ability to work as part of a team

- A highly professional approach to language teaching

- Evidence of being able to deliver engaging English lessons to teenage learners

- An enthusiasm for working with young people

The Teacher/Activity Leader role is a demanding but ultimately very rewarding one. The students come in small groups or on their own, and as such you have the chance to really get to know and inspire the children.

Course start dates vary from centre with most contracts beginning on 2nd July 2015. The first 1-2 days of any contract are spent on training and induction and are paid.

We offer a fully-resourced syllabus with accompanying lesson plans. Teachers are further supported by experienced Directors of Studies who, as well as providing day-to-guidance, run regular workshops as part our professional development programme.

UIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Part of the post holder’s responsibilities for safeguarding the welfare of the young students for whom they are responsible will be to adhere to our Child Protection Policy. As part of our Safer Recruitment Policy you will be asked to explain any gaps in your work and education history, agree to an DBS Enhanced Disclosure and sign a Suitability to Work with Children Declaration where you will be asked to state any criminal convictions. Applicants based overseas will be asked to provide evidence of a 'clean' local police check. All applicants will need to provide at least 2 referees. When following up references, referees will be specifically asked if they have any concerns about the applicant working with young people.

All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. We do not sponsor work permit visa applications.
