| Electrical Engineer, Bristol Our client is an international advisory and design consultancy with particular specialisation in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions. With over 4,000 people across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, they offer clients the benefit of global expertise coupled with local knowledge. The main duties of the Assistant Engineer include, but are not limited to: - Solve problems using standard techniques with limited supervision - Prepare design calculations* - Oversee the preparation of drawings by drafts people - Contribute towards the production of relevant contract documents and specifications* - Produce bills of quantity* (if applicable) - Produce detailed technical reports* - Fully comply with quality, safety and environmental management systems (* Subject to supervision and within prescribed limits) Projects in the main are in the Rail sector producing designs, specifications and drawings for electrical services for new stations, station extensions and refurbishments and car parks. Also some projects in industrial sector including external lighting design, building services including renewables. It is desirable that applicants are the process of applying for membership of relevant professional body (insert specific bodies) or who are keen to start the process. It is essential for applicants to have a relevant first degree, HND , HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Building Services. Experience in working on small / medium sized building services projects is important, as is carrying out internal and external lighting design, cable sizing calculations, electrical protection and discrimination calculations.
