| You will be part of the corporate communications and marketing team who deal with media queries and promotional activities/stories on behalf of the whole Council. The team is responsible for North East Lincolnshire Council's media relations, its civic newspaper for residents, the staff magazine, and corporate marketing and design. Team members aim to protect and promote the council's reputation and work hand in hand with other departments to ensure the public and employees are kept well-informed of council activities What degree subject would this placement suit? If you are studying toward a marketing, media, PR, communications or journalism degree this placement would suit you. What sort of person would suit this placement? The placement requires someone who is creative, confident, articulate, resourceful and has lots of initiative. You will be enthusiastic, not easily distracted, tactful and calm under pressure. What projects might I be involved in? - Creating a new corporate style guide and producing a plan for its launch - Creating an emergency planning product that aims to give residents key information - A brand audit - Creating a communications toolkit for the council - Assessing advertising options in the region What general work will I be involved in? - Writing news releases for media and stories for the staff magazine and civic newspaper - Monitoring the media - Helping to design pages for the newspaper and magazine - Dealing with media enquiries - Working on PR and marketing campaigns - Development of corporate branding - Attending council meetings Will I be working in a team? Yes, you will be working in a team of eight people, but will liaise with many more employees around the council |
